Did you know that top employers and recruiters are now using chatbots and artificial intelligence to make their sourcing 98% faster?

But, hold up, there are several benefits of AI Recruiting Software for you so stick with me. But first, before getting to that, let me recap on what AI is and it’s uses during recruitment.

Oh, and if you’re bouncing into this blog for the first time and don’t know who I am – click here for more deets.

What is Recruitment AI?

At the most basic level, “artificial intelligence” refers to any technology that simulates the intelligent behaviours of human beings.

Voice recognition and speech processing software, like the kind used by Siri and other popular digital assistants, is a form of AI that many of us are familiar with. You ask your phone a question, it answers, and voila – you’ve just witnessed artificial intelligence in action.

Why Artificial Intelligence is Coming to Recruitment

Firstly, let me start off by saying this isn’t the end of human-to-human contact in recruitment. Recruiters, Human Resources and Hiring Managers will still be very much part of the process and are important components.

But, with everyone expecting to do more with less AI Recruiting Software helps manage the recruitment process and make it more efficient. My prediction is it will make the experience better for you as the candidate.

How Artificial Intelligence is Being Used in Recruitment

AI is the future of recruiting in the sense that it will soon be a standard piece of the puzzle, like resumes, LinkedIn, and ATSs are today.

So how will AI Recruiting Software be used during the recruitment process and how will you know if you are engaging in AI?

Good question! Here are the top 5 functions that AI is set to take over.

Top-of-funnel conversations: Through the help of chatbots, AI can be used to manage top-of-funnel conversations with candidates and keep applicants engaged in the process.

Advertising Jobs: AI can be used to announce openings to potential candidates. When a new role comes up, recruiters can search their talent databases for candidates who might be a good fit. Then, a chatbot can message candidates directly to tell them about the role and gauge their interest. If the candidate is interested, the chatbot can walk them through the next steps to apply.

Screening and Scheduling Interviews: AI can be used to gather information about candidates by asking them questions regarding their qualifications and experience, ensuring that only qualified candidates make it to the next round. AI can also handle interview scheduling.

I also expect AI to be introduced into applicant tracking systems. Instead of the software screening for pre-determined keywords, it will be able to intelligently review your resume as a whole to identify if you have the right background, skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience for the role on offer.

Career Fair Promotions: In addition to job advertisements, AI can also advertise upcoming career fairs and similar events where candidates can meet representatives of a company in person.

New Employee Onboarding: The use and effectiveness of AI doesn’t end once a hire is made. It can also play vital roles in onboarding new hires. Rather than the information overload that comes with handing a new hire a stack of documents all at once, a chatbot, for example, can direct the new hire through documents one by one in a more streamlined and digestible manner.

A Working Example

Let’s say you’ve registered with a recruitment agency. A typical interaction might start with a chatbot texting you about an employer’s new opening.

You then respond to say you are interested, and then chatbot asks a few questions to make sure you are qualified.

If you are qualified, the chatbot can then help you schedule an interview, fill out an application, or take whatever next steps are required.

If you have questions about the role and company, you can text and the chatbot will respond.

In the event that the chatbot cannot answer a question, it will pull a human recruiter who can continue the conversation.

Benefits To You & Your Job Campaign

There are many benefits to you but here are just a few…

Increased transparency: The number one complaint from job seekers is not receiving a call, text or email to keep them up to date on the progress of their application. With AI handling much of the routine communication it eliminates the “black hole” experienced by professionals during their job campaign.

Reduced Hiring Timeframes: The average number of days to hire is 23 days. With the introduction of AI, days can be shaved off the hiring processes.

No more back and forward emails: With AI handling interview scheduling it will save the headache of back-and-forth emails. You can simply select a time that works for you and the technology will slot in your preferred date/time into the recruiter’s schedule.

The Final Word

AI isn’t meant to replace recruiters, human resources and hiring managers in the recruitment process. But it will make everyone involved in the process more efficient and effective as well as creating a better experience for you.

The future of recruiting is here!!
